I Feel My Savior's Love! Sister Kiana Lindmeir

Hey Guys! I Hope you all are doing great! I sure am! I had an amazing week! Here are some exciting things!
In my Friday morning studies, I felt impressed to study from the Relief Society book called, "Daughters in My Kingdom: The History and Work of Relief Society." Normally, I only focus on studying Preach my Gospel and the Book of Mormon, but I felt I needed to study from this book. As I was scrolling through chapters, I noticed the Chapter called "Blessings of the Priesthood for All". I started to read it and found it so comforting to know how important my role as a women is!
So that evening, we had a lesson with a less-active member, Mary Beth, and she brought up how she is so frustrated with the church because she is not allowed to have the Priesthood! What?! Good thing I was prompted to study about that that very morning!
I shared some of what I read and bore testimony of it! Here is some things I shared:
"All Heavenly Father’s sons and daughters are equally blessed as they draw upon the power of the priesthood."
In a general conference address, Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles taught: “While we sometimes refer to priesthood holders as ‘the priesthood,’ we must never forget that the priesthood is not owned by or embodied in those who hold it. It is held in a sacred trust to be used for the benefit of men, women, and children alike.” Elder Oaks then quoted Elder John A. Widtsoe, who also served as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve: “Men have no greater claim than women upon the blessings that issue from the Priesthood and accompany its possession.”
Saturday, we had a lesson with a less-active member. She is going through A LOT and she has a lot of addictions. She doesn't understand why God would put her through so much and she thinks she is going to hell.
While talking to her, I started to relate life to running. I am grateful for the Spirit for filling my mouth with words as I spoke to her. While relating life to running, I brought up how sometimes in races,  I have "hit a wall"; which means that my body was giving out. It would cause me to think about giving up or quitting. People would be passing me left and right and it was almost like I was running in slow motion. It was awful! But I wouldn't quit! There are so many people in this world that have "hit a wall". They have had every kind of trial and affliction come at them. They may have thoughts of quitting or giving up. Some people do give up and some know that it will be hard, but they won't stop. I told the less-active member that she may just have to move one foot in front of the other, but that Heavenly Father is so proud of her. He wants her to finish the race and to return back to him! I know that this is true! When life is hard, we need to remind ourself that our earth life is so short compared to Eternity!
So this week is transfers! Please hold the mail in case I get transferred! I will let you know next week how it goes :)
Have a great week and I love you!

Hey Everyone!
Last week i sent out a big email to all of you and it was such a good one too! I have no idea why you all didn't get it. I am really sorry about that. The Email said it sent and when i looked today in the drafts instead of having everything being there that i wrote down, it was just a blank draft with all your names on it and lasts weeks date. I know i am bad with computers but my companion saw me send the email to all of you last week and for some reason you all just didn't get it! I really hope you get this one because last week was amazing!

Since you didn't get my email from last week i will summarize what happened briefly. Bill got baptized on saturday and it was the coolest experience in the world. when he came up out of the water, he was crying so hard! he was so touched by the spirit and he said that he has never felt so good in his life! It was the coolest thing to see because Bill is sooo big and tough looking but really he is just a big softy. Easter was so amazing too! we were able to share wonderful messages about Christ to a ton of people and our investigators who didn't have any family to spend Easter with! It made the day wonderful! We also ate dinner with our ward mission leader and his family and their little girl was sitting on the moms lap and we were just enjoying a delicious piece of cake and all of a sudden, the little girl threw up everywhere!!! It was so funny! It was definitely an Easter week i will never forget! :)

Now to the amazing things that happened last week! Last Week i felt like Ammon and i just wanted to boast in my God all day everyday because of the Joy that i felt! so many miracles happened! We were tracking on wednesday and we ran into a girl named Kayla and she seemed pretty interested in what we were saying so we invited her to a church tour on thursday. On Thursday she came to the church and we started talking and she ended up telling us her whole life story. And oh my goodness i am so blessed to have the family i do! She told us that her mom was crazy and she had to be put in foster care, she was there for a few years and then her grandma decided to take her in, but her grandma was mean to her and verbally abusive. She said that She didn't eat at her Grandmas because she couldn't and so she lost so much weight that she has had to hospitalized twice. She said that she has tried to commit suicide a few times too. While she was talking she kept telling us that she just wants to know why she is still here and what her purpose is in life. Sister Standing and i were like bawling when she was telling us about her life and we are so grateful that the Lord led us to her because we know that the gospel will be able to help her feel so much more peace in her life, and let her know that she is not alone and that the Savior has been through everything that she has.

We had a whole bunch of great lessons with our investigators last week too! We talked about temples and eternal marriage with Mandy and Jarrad, they are currently both praying about a baptism day, and are picking out the temple that they want to be sealed in. Mary who has been taking the lessons for two years is praying that the Lord will help take away her fear of being baptized and choose a day. Bill, our recent convert is doing amazing! The last lesson we had with him, he just kept crying and he said that he is so sorry, but whenever we talk about anything spiritual he is brought to tears because he feels the Gift of the Holy Ghost so strongly! It is wonderful!

It is really amazing that i have been able to stay in this area so long! I love Seeing the change in the people we see and the people we teach. I love Being able to be part of helping people build their faith in Jesus Christ. Seeing how much happier they are and how much the Gospel has already made their lives better. I love the Joy that i feel that comes with Serving the Lord! I love the Miracles that we see each day as we follow the spirit and i love being a Missionary! :)

Oh what a beautiful morning! Oh what a beautiful day! Sister Waverli Lindmeir

I don't know about where you are all at but it has been sooo nice and sunny for the past week! Sister Standing and I were out talking to people for only three hours the other day and we both got super sun burnt! Don't worry mom and dad, i will make sure my companion wears sunscreen ;)
Do you all remember our Investigator Bill Williams that we have been teaching for a while? Well he is getting Baptized this weekend! We went over last week to Bills house and we went over the Baptism Questions with Bill and he Didn't want to answer the Questions because right before i came, the other sisters had already went over them with him and so he didn't want to do them again, but that was over 10 weeks ago so Sister Standing and i were a little worried because we didn't know if he really was ready to be baptized. So we asked Bill why do you want to get Baptized? This is what he said: " It is kind of a selfish reason but i know that if i have enough faith, the Lord will help heal my back. Whether by it healing completely, or just by having the strength to do the things that he wants me to do."(Bill has a horrible back, he got injured in the marines and had back surgery and they accidently cut a cord in his back that has really limited his movement. He can"t sit in church for more than an hour. he can't walk very well, he has to use a cane, and he sits in this chair at home almost all day, every day, he even has to sleep in this chair it is really sad because he is only 50 years old too.) We also asked Bill how has your Faith grown since the missionaries have been teaching him? he told us that he has felt it grow so much and that the day that the sisters found him 9 months ago was on a really hard day because he had just lost his dog. They shared a message with him and he felt the spirit so strongly. Missionaries have been teaching him since. He also said that he cannot deny the truthfulness of the church because of the way he feels every single time we come and teach him and every time he reads the book of mormon, and comes to church. It is so cool! Bill is so excited and he is going to get baptized in a pool instead of a baptisimal font because he is so big and they are going to baptize him forward instead of backwards which is going to be awesome!
We are really Excited for Bill this weekend! we have been praying a lot that his faith WILL make him whole and we know that all things are possible through our Savior Jesus Christ! And we can't wait to see what happens! His faith is sooo strong!

Things are soooo good in Yakima! i love being a missionary because you get to see the change that people go through and you get to see their faith grow in our Savior Jesus Christ. it makes you so happy!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter when you can think more about out wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ and the amazing Gifts that he has given us!

I love you all! Love, Sister Lindmeir

Ps funny story i went downstairs at night to grab something and i see tons of bubbles spurting out of the dishwasher and they were all over the floor!!!! i tell sister Standing to come downstairs and she says oh no!!! not again!!! she accidently put dish washing soap into the dish washer instead of Dish washer soap. it was soooooo funny and she actually did it once before. it took a while to clean up but it was the funniest thing i have ever seen! :)

Mission Life! Elder Lindmeir!

hey family, sounds like you are all having a great week!!! im pretty sure that car that you sent me a picture of shivani is worth millions, that's pretty cool. i cant believe grandma is coming home soon and i forgot but how much time does kiana have? its weird to think that in 3 month ill be half way done! i need to step it up haha it goes by way to fast!!

this week has been an amazing week and kind of sad because elder rivers is leaving and then tomorrow i find out who i get put with, hope hes a weirdo and a hard worker if hes that we will get along just great. me and elder rivers were really able to work really well with each other and this area, the hardest part about the area is finding those people that are prepared and ready to except the gospel, but its all coming together. we had some really cool experiences this week that really helped us out to become better missionaries!

first off since we knew that elder rivers was leaving i called the assistants to get permission to drive instead of elder rivers because i need to learn the area better and so i got permission and it was about 9:00 at night and i am driving and i stop at this red light and when it turns green i start debating whether i go straight or left, so as i pull up i stutter on the brakes still debating and then i decide to go straight and as soon as we pull forward to go through the green light a huge black truck comes flying down the hill that we were going across and missed us probably by 3 feet. i seriously just saw our lives flash before us this truck was going close to 50 miles an hour. and all i know is that if i hadn't switched to be the driver, rivers would have gone straight and it would have been bad, but i know with out a doubt that we were protected. it was pretty insane! but a really cool story to share. hope i didn't scare you guys to much haha.

so on a happier note we have been teaching up a storm, we are teaching more lessons than i ever had and its a huge blessing. elder Ballard came to our mission and we had him talk to us about how we can increase our missionary efforts by teaching. it was beneficial to us because we realised that we need to teach more to there understanding and that as we teach the lessons we need to make sure that they believe in each point before we move on to the next, and it really was a great blessing to hear from him and to be able to increase this work here in this mission.

well i love you all! and keep it up! see you all soon in 20 days!!!

missionary life! Elder Lindmeir

It sounds like everyone is doing great! loving life, and preparing for weddings.... so weird still haha but im excited you should make full on cut outs of us and take pictures with us at the wedding haha. and dad your not the only one wanting to go riding, so when i get back we should go for like a whole week straight! just the boys that would be cool. ( no offense mom love you too!!!)
this week was a very enlightening week, on Friday we went by our investigators home (Kelly) and when we walked up to the door her boyfriend Paul (which is a less active member) walks out with a beer in his hand and right off the bat we could just feel it something was wrong. Paul told us that he was drinking and previously to this him and Kelly had been going to AA meeting to become sober they were both around 120 days, and Kelly was going to be baptised on the 19th. so we walk in and we see Kelly on the couch just hammered! like i was scared, she looked like a possessed zombie, and then Paul is just so drunk he doesn't know whats going on and hes just starts talking about politics and how we are getting taken over by the government, them we hear a screaming/crying voice from the bathroom and we run over there and it was sage (Kelly daughter) she is only 12 and she is crying and screaming because Kelly promised she would never drink again, and it goes on and on. so we calmed sage down and took her outside and played soccer, while i went and calmed Paul down and just listened to him, Paul has had a really hard life and he is one of the happiest and nicest people i have ever met and just to see him in the state he was, was just insane he was just a totally different person. so that night was really tough but at the same time it was a blessing because we calmed sage down and taught her about the Restoration and about how god loves her and how she is a daughter of god. then she asked us if we could come back in the morning around 10 so we did. during this time we went over and they acted like nothing happened, so we kinda through down a little, until they opened up and told us why they drank and all that stuff, then we started teaching about Jesus Christ and the atonement and it was one of those lessons were the spirit is so strong it feels like your whole body is on fire! and then we talked about the only way to let this behind us is to ask god for forviness and then we all got on our knees and prayed and asked, the spirit was so strong i mean you couldn't deny it, so it was a blessing for them to have that trial so that they could understand the spirit more and about the atonement. as we finished the lesson, we stood up and asked them were the rest of there beers were and we took them and had some fun with them haha, we through them into the dumpsters as they exploded it was a blast haha.

then since this week was spring break we ran with Andrew miller ( the runner ) so i trained him since i cant run at the moment. theres a track close by to our house and man it was so fun to be a coach training this kid, and he did really well and it was a blast, hes going through a hard time at school he get bullied and he says he has no Friends and so were trying to help him get on the track and cross country team as this time, hes a really great kid, and we are teaching his mom, and she came to church on Sunday!!! we were so stoked to see them and there mom there it was so good to see the whole family go.

this week also we went by a inactive member and he is like the definition of a beach bum, but hes pretty wealthy and has a family, and he does is surf and work, we got to know him by offering service because we noticed he had cut some trees down and there were still a bunch of wood laying on the ground. he was s stoked that we could help him out. so he rented a log splitter and we had some fun, there was so much wood it took us like 6 hours and we still weren't done, but he really appreciated it and so did we. we invited him to church and he said he will think about it hes really open about it and you can tell he wants to come back, the rest of his family are non members!!!!!! so with some prayers hopefully we can pick them up soon.

something that we are trying to work on at this time is using members more. we have been taking at least 1 member out with us for about 2 hours a day, and from doing this just in the last week we have been able to see so many miracles and to be able to find alot more potentials so work is going great here I'm loving it!! well love you all hope you have a good week!!!!
